When Good Dogs Are Bad
I am babysitting two 5 month old puppies of my breeding who are here for a few days while their owners are out of town. Puppy girl #1 has settled in and spends her days on the couch and at night sleeps right next to the bed. What a good girl!!!! Puppy girl #2 is also settling in and has done no further dumb girl stuff (which she has developed a reputation for) I wish I could say as much for
her littermates, Rune & Hex.......who are permanent residents here.. In the last few weeks, they have started using a HUGE tree in the back yard as a chew toy. There is a big spot on the above ground roots, right at the base that is evidence of their efforts....I never said they were bright.....
Today, I'd gotten all the morning chores finished, it is cloudy and there is a light rain/ mist, with more to come. I decided to take a luxurious bath. I'd gotten the water in the double jacuzzi JUST RIGHT, added some TIRED OLD ASS BATH SALTS (yes, there really IS such a product and it is GREAT) and was settling in. Soon, I hear a noise that I shouldn't be hearing;..why, it sounds like the puppies are eating the house! Nah, it couldn't be. I try to ignore it. SOMETHING is not right, I have to go check. I haul myself out of the tub, wrap in a towel and poke my head out the back door. THE PUPPIES ARE EATING THE HOUSE........ Specifically, a corner of the siding that their ancestors had started several years ago, THIS VERY DAY WE FINISHED RESIDING THE HOUSE..... There are sheets of insulation under vinyl siding, and there were a FEW teeth marks from the original house-eaters. When I poked my head out, I just see puppy bodies, so as I'm throwing some clothes on, I think to myself, that rotten visiting-puppy-#2, leading my GOOD puppies astray and encouraging juvenile delinquency....... when I actually get outside, I see the undeniable truth- RUNE with a piece of insulation in his beard, Hex nearby encouraging him, and the one I thought was the culprit no where near the damage. The perfect puppy boy has been caught in the act!!!!!!!! |
