FAQ

With Apologies to Clement C. Moore

T'was the night before Thursday and all through the house
not a puppy was stirring, too pooped to pounce
The children were watching "the Amazing Race"
Their happiness evident, right on their face.
Mama was in bed, she can't stay up late
Dad came up later, after he ate.
When down in the kitchen were thundering paws
K-thunk, k-thunk, crash, midnight playtime, it's law!
A grin on our faces and roll over in bed
This is all normal, there's nothing to dread.
Oh but this morning, as we descended the stairs
We were met by the 6-Pack, with innocent stares.
Dad's comments were quick and summerized all,
Oh Shooter oh, Chaucer and Pepe, you too,
Now Spencer, Chip and Sunny, what did you all do?
Innocent puppies lined up in a row
Amid piles of poop in the hallway below
Then in a twinkling they turn and they fly
to the living room, paper is waiting, IT MUST DIE!
Six happy puppies, running playing and such
they'd escaped and had fun, cleaning..too much!
They'd shoved the x-pen enclosing their realm
and conquered the main floor, Chip at the helm
They jumped and they pounced, they pooped and they peed
They hung out with Mom, probably having a feed
Jim and I laugh, then make sure there are six
If we had lost one we'd be in a fix
The big dogs were kenneled, whew, no problem there
but the dog door was operable to the cold air
We start to corral them, lasso's assist
Back to the kitchen, 'No sassiness, miss"
Six wonderful bundles line up and sit
they are all smiling, what wonderful wit!
One of them yawns, followed by two and then three
Let's nap now and plan for later, let's see....
