FAQ

A. I. Gottsch - Ianina Irish Wolfhounds

Involvement in the breed:
I have been privileged to own wolfhounds for over 15 years and have bred two litters. During that time, the dogs and I have been involved in conformational showing, lure coursing, straight track racing, therapy visits and Irish wolfhound rescue. I have always had an interest in obedience work. Unfortunately for the few hounds I've had that may have done well; my laziness has thwarted their chance to embarrass me in the obedience ring.

We have participated in educational events, such as "Meet the Breeds" and have given informational talks to several different local organizations. I enjoy taking the dogs on social excursions such as parades, renaissance festivals and municipal dog events.

I am a member and active participant of my local kennel club, several regional clubs and the national breed club.

But my favorite is sitting at home in my comfortable jammies (reading a book or watching TV) with a steaming cup of hot chocolate in my hand, a hound on either side and one on my feet, keeping me nice and toasty warm.

I hope to never be without a wolfhound and I hope to never forget how special they truly are.
