Involvement in the breed:
Our introduction to the breed happened one cold November day in Lake Tahoe. While walking in the snow on the beach of the lake, two big grey dogs came thundering  toward us. They stopped and ambled along with us for a bit and we were smitten. Our first IW, Echant, came to live with us four months later on her second birthday in 1982. Two months later, puppy Louis joined us. We bred seven litters between 1984 and 1996 and showed in conformation, finishing several Irish Wolfhound champions. For the last 12 years I have been primarily active as breed coordinator for the Irish Wolfhound Studies researching the health conditions of seizures, PCD & recurring pneumonia in the breed. At present, we share our home with two wolfhounds and care for six mixbreed rescues with special needs.
