Involvement in the breed:
I was first introduced to Irish Wolfhounds in high school when I started working for my local veterinarian after school. He was an Irish gentleman who would bring his several wolfhounds with him into the clinic. The dogs were never caged but would stand frozen like statues in the back room waiting for him to finish his work. I knew at that time that I wanted to be the object of such devotion. ![]() I acquired my first wolfhound in 1990 and realized instantly that little puppy with the enormous legs and even bigger bladder would change my life forever. And he did. I have had wolfhounds ever since. Although my favorite part of Irish Wolfhounds is simply sharing my life with them I am also involved in conformation showing as well as lure coursing. I have served on the Board of Directors of the Great Lakes Irish Wolfhound Association and am a member of several international Irish Wolfhound organizations including out national club.
