FAQ

Deborah Sanders - Niobrara Irish Wolfhounds

Involvement in the breed:
An encounter with an Irish Wolfhound as a teenager left me knowing that I would share my life with this very special breed. I purchased my first Wolfhound in 1971 and my life has never been the same.

In the past 37 years, I've chosen a very limited breeding program, which has produced BISS and BIS winning hounds. I enjoy open field and lure coursing and have been active in Irish Wolfhound rescue. We have participated in therapy work with the IW's in hospitals, nursing homes and schools.

I have been active in our national and regional Irish Wolfhound and all breed clubs. I have enjoyed Specialty Sweepstakes judging assignments in both the US and Canada .

Thanks to Sue & Bev Stobart of Caraglen Irish Wolfhounds, I began sculpting them in the late 90's. I've been pushing around clay and haven't had clean fingernails ever since. I am pleased to say that my canine sculptures have won national awards and are in international private collections.

The very best thing about my involvement with Irish Wolfhounds is the smile that they put on my face everyday.
