FAQ

Donna Tomson - Castlekeep Irish Wolfhounds

Involvement in the breed:
a pack of irish wolfhoundsI fell in love. It was 1986, she had big brown eyes and a huge heart, her name was Meaghen. She was my first Irish Wolfhound and we spent ten happy years together. When she left, I thought I would never own another, but that could not happen. Once this breed is in your life they are here to stay.

I breed occasionally, which leads to conformation showing, specialties preferred. A wonderful time to see hundreds of hounds and catch up with old friends. Lure coursing and straight racing is my joy. We have also dabbled in Rally "O" for the annual "Great Canadian Triathalon".

The hounds and I have visited seniors as "Therapy dogs" and educated children participating in "Bite Prevention" seminars. Most of my days are spent exercising, feeding and grooming hounds.

It has been a wonderful experience learning about this breed, and everyday there is more to learn.
