FAQ

Karen Corriea - Windwalker Irish Wolfhounds

Involvement in the breed:
We were captured by the breed while on a week-end drive on Highway 49 in the California foothills. As we came down a winding canyon road we saw a man walking along with the tallest dog we'd ever seen. We stopped at the bottom of the hill and when the man and dog caught up to the car, the dog walked up to the open window and gave me a big wet kiss. I knew then that someday we had to have one in our lives.

That time came in 1984 and has been there ever since. Currently only one IW shares my home and life. Over the years there have been multiples and other breeds, but always a wolfhound. Membership in the Northern California Irish Wolfhound Club has also been a constant. The many and varied activities have given me an opportunity to enjoy my hounds and friends in various ways; showing, lure coursing, parades, dog and human team games and always someone willing to offer advice or help
when needed.
